At the National Census of 2006, its population was 12,594 in 2,326 households.[5] There were 15,827 inhabitants in 4,144 households at the following census of 2011.[6] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 15,529 in 5,014 households. The most populous of its 234 villages was Darreh Rud, with 792 people.[2]
